This year, we received thousands of entries from across the world. We had a team of over 120 international judges join us, including over 20 Masters of Wine and nearly a dozen Master Sommeliers. Our expert panels were comprised of 57% Off-Trade Buyers from UK\u2019s leading retailers, 26% On-Trade Buyers from well-established bars and restaurants, 6% Wine Journalists and Educators. The panels were overseen by the IWSC Wine Judging Committee members:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/196\/alex-hunt-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Hunt MW<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/266\/alistair-cooper-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Cooper MW<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/198\/dirceu-vianna-junior-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dirceu Vianna Junior MW<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/468\/essi--avellan-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essi Avellan MW<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/199\/john-hoskins-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Hoskins MW<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/204\/mick-oconnell-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mick O\u2019Connell MW<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/358\/sarah-abbott-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarah Abbott MW<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>IWSC 2024 Wine Judging highlights<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Sweet and Fortified wines stole the show, with outstanding entries from Spain, Portugal, Australia and Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Champagne put on an impressive performance earning 11 gold medals and once again proving that the region consistently delivers high quality despite the vintage challenges.<\/li>\n<li>France won the country medal race with just shy of 700 medals awarded, including 27 golds.<\/li>\n<li>Italy and Australia made it in the top 3 most coveted countries, with nearly 550 and almost 340 medals respectively.<\/li>\n<li>English sparkling wines had a triumph at this year\u2019s judging, scooping up awards, with our experts admiring the skillful winemaking and the diversity of styles. English Blanc de Blancs and sparkling ros\u00e9 are among the standouts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Fortified wines<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Fortified wines scoop IWSC medals every year and 2024 was no exception. The judges were delighted by the quality sherries, ports and madeiras, as well as Rutherglen Muscats from Australia, with over a dozen gold medals awarded to the most exceptional wines.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSome of the sherries showed amazing intensity, wonderful complexity \u2013 they just jumped out of the glass. You taste it \u2013 and you know straight away that it\u2019s a gold,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0shared\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/198\/dirceu-vianna-junior-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dirceu Vianna Junior MW<\/a>\u00a0who led the fortified wines tasting.<\/p>\n<p>One of the standout gold-winning sherries was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/144757\/30-yo-amontillado-nv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Emilio Lustau 30 YO Amontillado NV<\/em><\/a>, praised by the judges for its complexity and long finish.<\/p>\n<p>As for the highest scoring ports,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/144801\/kopke-colheita-1965\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Kopke Colheita 1965<\/em><\/a>\u00a0received a stellar 97 points and a gold medal, the judges raving about its multilayered aromas and describing it as\u00a0<em>\u201clight but elegant, with a great finish\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Madeiras also didn\u2019t disappoint; moreover, the judges proclaimed this year\u2019s entries\u00a0<em>\u201csome of the best madeiras we have ever tasted\u201d.\u00a0<\/em>One of the top performers here was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/144752\/sercial-1990\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Blandy\u2019s Madeira Sercial 1990<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that earned 96 points and a gold:<em>\u00a0\u201c<\/em><em>Superb wine with great personality, character and complexity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sparkling\u00a0<\/strong><strong>wines<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>With an incredible diversity of entries on show, our Sparkling Wine Judging was split over 2 days, with dedicated expert panels for each subcategory.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Champagne<\/strong>\u00a0panels were overseen by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/468\/essi--avellan-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essi Avellan MW<\/a>\u00a0who was impressed with the overall quality of this year\u2019s entries. The panels echoed this sentiment, noting that there&#8217;s great quality to be found in this exciting category, even in the most challenging vintages<em>. \u201cThe vintage categories, and especially the Blanc de Blancs styles really stood out<\/em>,\u201d shared Essi Avellan MW.<\/p>\n<p>The highest-scoring champagne was, nonetheless, a non-vintage one \u2013\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146925\/solera-ros-brut-nv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solera Ros\u00e9 Brut NV<\/a><\/em>by Champagne Palmer receiving an impressive 98 points and a gold from the judges.<\/p>\n<p>The other standouts included two vintage expressions:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146849\/clos-lanson-blanc-de-blancs-extra-brut-2010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Clos Lanson Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2010<\/em><\/a>\u00a0by Lanson and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146848\/orpale-grand-cru-blanc-de-blancs-brut-2012\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Orpale Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut 2012<\/em><\/a>\u00a0by Champagne de Saint Gall \u2013 both entries were awarded with golds and 97 points.<\/p>\n<p>Over 150 medals were awarded to champagne entries, including 11 golds \u2013 an awe-inspiring performance.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecco, English sparkling and other sparkling wines tasting was co-chaired by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/266\/alistair-cooper-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Cooper MW<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/199\/john-hoskins-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Hoskins MW<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Proseccos<\/strong>\u00a0were consistently well made, with a step up in quality of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene and Cartizze Prosecco. The judges praised the \u201c<em>very good concentration of fruit, fruit definition and good mouth-coating texture\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Over 70 medals were awarded to Prosecco, and, as expected, Valdobbiadene Brut became the standout flight, with a gold medal awarded to the best expression \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146170\/brut-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Daldin Brut 2023<\/em><\/a>, praised for its<em>\u00a0\u201celegant nose, good linear drive and lifted finish\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>English sparkling<\/strong>\u00a0performed brilliantly this year, with over 100 medals awarded, including six golds.<\/p>\n<p>Several English ros\u00e9s and Blanc de Blancs caused real excitement among the judges, in particular\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146077\/ros-brut-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wyfold Vineyard Ros\u00e9 Brut 2018<\/a><\/em>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146923\/tesco-finest-ros-brut-nv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Union Champagne\u00a0Tesco Finest Ros\u00e9 Brut NV<\/em><\/a>. Both wines received 96 points and gold medals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146089\/boot-hill-vineyard-blanc-de-blancs-brut-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Gusbourne Boot Hill Vineyard Blanc De Blancs Brut 2018<\/em><\/a>\u00a0was the highlight amongst the English Blanc de Blancs &#8211; 96 points and a well-deserved gold medal, the judges admiring the\u00a0<em>\u201clovely freshness\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0<em>\u201clong, fine, mousse\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe English Blanc de Blancs showed some extremely fine wines, indicating the commitment to quality in Sussex, Hampshire and Kent as a whole,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0shared the judges.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at other parts of the world,\u00a0<strong>New Zealand<\/strong>\u00a0sparkling wines showed great quality with 4 gold meads awarded, with one outstanding entry,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146896\/cuve-brut-nv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Oyster Bay Cuv\u00e9e Brut NV<\/em><\/a>, earning an impressive 96 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canadian<\/strong>\u00a0sparkling wines wowed our judges with their freshness and concentration of fruit, receiving 2 golds, the highest scoring wine being\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146305\/brut-2017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lakeview Wine Co. Brut 2017<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>France<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This year we saw a 20% increase in French entries, with nearly 900 wines from all regions of France on show. The panels tasting still French wines were co-chaired by the IWSC Wine Judging Committee members\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/266\/alistair-cooper-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Cooper MW<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/199\/john-hoskins-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Hoskins MW<\/a>. More than 80% of all French wines that entered the competition won medals, including an impressive number of 27 golds, securing France as the top country in the medal table.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Champagne sparkling success, the standout regions were Chablis, Provence and Alsace.<\/p>\n<p>The judges praised the nuanced expressions and ageing potential of the best Chablis, noting that, \u201c<em>the complexity exhibited by the Chablis wines was truly remarkable\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One of the top-performing Grand Cru Chablis, the gold-winning\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146680\/2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>La Chablisienne 2020<\/em><\/a>\u00a0our judges proclaimed \u201c<em>electric<\/em>\u201d, wowed by the \u201c<em>mineral, very concentrated ripe apple and citrus with moderate savoury complexity and long finish\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Alsatian gold-winning highlight was a stunning\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/144741\/gewurztraminer-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>2022 Gewurztraminer by Dopff Au Moulin<\/em><\/a>, displaying plenty of varietal character with an\u00a0<em>\u201cexuberant nose of lychees, dried orange peel and pithy, phenolic grip on the palate.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Two brilliant ros\u00e9 wines from Provence also received the coveted gold:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/144419\/lexcellence-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Ch\u00e2teau Saint-Maur L\u2019excellence 2023\u00a0<\/em><\/a>and\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/144427\/pure-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mirabeau Pure 2023<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0The judges admired the \u201c<em>sense of place<\/em>\u201d, the charming fruity flavours and the great gastronomic potential of both wines.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Italy<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our Italian panels were co-chaired by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/204\/mick-oconnell-mw\/judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mick O\u2019Connell MW<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/266\/alistair-cooper-mw\/judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Cooper MW<\/a>\u00a0who both agreed that there was high quality on show across all regions of Italy. This is reflected in the results \u2013 over 450 medals were awarded to Italian wines, including 9 golds.<\/p>\n<p>Piedmont flights became the highlight for our judges, the region boasting 4 gold medals. One of the most impressive Piedmont entries was, unsurprisingly, a Barolo\u00a0<em>\u2013\u201crich, elegant and refined\u201d<\/em><em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/148096\/coste-di-rose-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">G.D.Vajra Coste Di Rose 2020<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>The wine won a firm gold and scored 96 points.<\/p>\n<p>Another outstanding entry from Piedmont was a white wine from the rare Timorasso variety \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/148071\/derthona-zerba-antica-timorasso-2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Cantine Volpi Derthona Zerba Antica Timorasso 2019<\/em><\/a>. The judges were unanimous in awarding it a gold praising its\u00a0<em>\u201crich and honeyed style and very textural waxy finish\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A high performer that also came from Northern Italy was an oaked Sauvignon Blanc from Friuli Venezia Giulia \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/147679\/sauvignon-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Aganis Sauvignon 2023<\/em><\/a>. The wine wowed our judges with its\u00a0<em>\u201crichly pungent style with nicely integrated oak notes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Spain<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our Wine Judging Committee member,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/198\/dirceu-vianna-junior-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dirceu Vianna Junior MW<\/a>, oversaw all the panels and was encouraged by the high quality that was presented this year.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the stellar performance of sherries, several other Spanish regions stood out to our judges earning as many as nearly 400 medals, including 8 golds.<\/p>\n<p>Rioja and Ribera del Duero were among the top-performing parts of Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Riojan wines showed a clear\u00a0<em>\u201csense of place\u201d,\u00a0<\/em>said our judges.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/145738\/gran-reserva-2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Bodegas Ram\u00f3n Bilbao Gran Reserva 2016<\/em><\/a>\u00a0impressed the panel with its delicate use of oak<em>, \u201cadding an extra layer of spice and complexity\u201d<\/em>, but not dominating the rich black fruit characters \u2013 a firm gold.<\/p>\n<p>Another impressive Spanish red came from the region of Toro.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/145655\/ildefonso-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Finca Sobre\u00f1o Ildefonso 2018<\/em><\/a>\u00a0received 97 points and a gold medal from our judges who praised the wine as\u00a0<em>\u201cextremely long and showing great typicity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Portugal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our Portuguese wine panels were also led Dirceu Vianna Junior MW who noted that, \u201c<em>the consistent quality and the highly enjoyable drinking experience that these wines offer is truly impressive.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0Over 260 medals were awarded to Portuguese wines, including 10 gold medals, the majority of which were scooped by the country\u2019s famous fortified wines (3 golds went to Madeiras and 6 to Ports).<\/p>\n<p>The gold-winning still wine from Portugal came from Douro DOC<em>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/145178\/vinhas-velhas-2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Quinta do P\u00e9go Vinhas Velhas 2016\u00a0<\/a><\/em>had our judges applaud its fruit-forward style with well-balanced oak, the wine showing\u00a0<em>\u201csurprising freshness despite the age\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Australia<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Australia had another impressive year with over 330 medals awarded, including 10 golds. The IWSC Judging Committee member\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/266\/alistair-cooper-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Cooper MW<\/a>\u00a0led the tasting, noting that Australian Shiraz, Chardonnay and the country\u2019s fortified wines were among the highlights.<\/p>\n<p>The Chardonnays received 4 golds with the judges admiring a standout wine from Adelaide Hills \u2013\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/147552\/lyndale-chardonnay-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orlando Wines Lyndale Chardonnay 2021<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0Made in a reductive style, which was nicely balanced by ample aromas and flavours of\u00a0<em>\u201cgreen apple and blossom, with lively acidity and creamy texture,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>this was a strong win.<\/p>\n<p>Shiraz dominated the red flights and led the red wines medal count, with 3 gold medals and a collection of silvers and bronzes going to Barossa and McLaren Vale.<\/p>\n<p>The gold-winning\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/147510\/sunshine-hill-shiraz-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Golden Amrita Sunshine Hill Shiraz 2021<\/a><\/em>\u00a0from Barossa Valley blew away our panels, with Alistair Cooper MW commenting that,\u00a0<em>\u201cit was so clearly Barossa \u2013 and it was the modern style of Barossa, allowing that fruit to express itself<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Fortified wines from Australia showed incredibly well, with 2 gold medals and a whole host more silvers and bronzes awarded to Rutherglen Muscats.<\/p>\n<div class=\"b-ugc l-news-events-detail__maincontent\">\n<h3><strong>New Zealand<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>New Zealand also didn\u2019t disappoint this year, with over 250 medals awarded, including 8 golds. Our Wine Judging Committee member,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/196\/alex-hunt-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Hunt MW<\/a>\u00a0was at the helm overseeing all panels. The judges were extremely pleased to see a diversity of grape varieties and winemaking approaches.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the aforementioned New Zealand sparkling wines that truly shone this year, Marlborough region put on an impressive performance earning 3 golds \u2013 for a Sauvignon Blanc, an\u00a0Albari\u00f1o\u00a0and a Pinot Noir. Interestingly, it was the oaked Sauvignon Blanc that particularly stood out \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/148576\/the-craft-series-pride-and-glory-sauvignon-blanc-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Craft Series Pride And Glory Sauvignon Blanc 2022<\/em><\/a>\u00a0by Marisco Vineyards wowed our experts with its\u00a0<em>\u201crichness on the palate with great acidity carrying the citrus fruit, engine smoke on the oaky nose with great length\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Canada<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Canada really impressed our judges this year, with nearly all of the wines receiving a medal. As with previous years, the showstoppers were the sweet wines from Canada, with 4 gold medals awarded to standout entries that showed real class and elegance.<\/p>\n<p>One of the top-performers was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/148845\/icewine-vidal-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Icewine Vidal 2021<\/em><\/a>\u00a0from Reif Estate Winery that scored 96 points and earned a gold from our judges who praised the wine\u2019s\u00a0<em>\u201ccomplex aromas and flavours, with beautiful structure and vibrant acidity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The judges were pleasantly surprised to taste some well-made dry wines, both red and whites, from grape varieties like Syrah, Cabernet Franc, as well as white Chardonnays.<\/p>\n<p>The abovementioned Canadian sparkling wines also performed brilliantly and earned 2 gold medals.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>South America<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u201c<em>The regionality and expression on show were superb. Year-on-year there have been improvements from all across South America,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwsc.net\/people\/profile\/266\/alistair-cooper-mw\/judge\/wine-judging-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alistair Cooper MW<\/a>\u00a0who headed our South American panels.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina topped the South American medal table with a total of 181 medals including 5 golds. The judges were pleased to see not only some outstanding expressions of Malbec, but also some high quality Cabernet Franc which is gradually moving towards becoming the next hallmark variety of the country. Two Cabernet Franc wines were awarded with gold medals:<em><a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/146403\/lauren-single-vineyard-cabernet-franc-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lauren Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2021<\/a><\/em>by Casarena Bodega y Vi\u00f1edos and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/detail\/145291\/golden-reserve-cabernet-franc-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Trivento<\/em><em>Golden Reserve Cabernet Franc 2022<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<\/em>both wines showed \u201c<em>well-defined varietal characteristics<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The judges were very pleased to see the consistent quality of Chilean wines with 98 medals awarded.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil also performed well with a\u00a0<em>\u201cbeautiful range of grapes and some skilled winemaking on display\u201d \u2013\u00a0<\/em>over 50 medals were awarded to Brazilian wines.<\/p>\n<p>See the full list of the IWSC 2024 wine results\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iwsc.net\/results\/search\/2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Wine Judging Committee will now be re-tasting each gold-winning wine to select the best bottles across a range of categories.
