The IWSC (International Wines and Spirits Competition) will hold its third competition in Georgia. IWSC 2025 Wine & Spirits Judging in Georgia, in collaboration with the Gurjaani Wine Festival and the National Wine Agency of Georgia, will be held in Tbilisi from November 27 to December 1, 2024. As is tradition, IWSC will present itself in Georgia with a star-studded team of international judges, whose experience and knowledge will ensure that the competition is held to the highest standards.
The jury will be led by Sarah Abbott, a renowned expert and supporter of Georgian wine, a popularizer of Georgian wine in the UK and Europe.
A team of distinguished professionals has once again gathered for this year’s competition. Let us introduce you to the members of the jury:
David Kermode – wine writer and media professional. Former BBC editor, currently hosts a popular podcast about wine and spirits.
Georgios Iordanidis – Head of Wine at Annabel’s London. Specialises in creating and developing wine programmes.
Will Hill – Wine Buying Director at Novel Wines. Expert in discovering lesser-known wine regions, particularly in Eastern Europe.
Rachel Pogmore – Wine Buyer at Enotria. Specialises in exploring new wine regions around the world.
Sunny Hodge – Wine consultant and author. Known for his innovative approach to managing the wine business.
Harry Crowther – Buyer and Consultant at Good Pair Days. Expert in everything from wine production to sales strategies.
Eric Zwiebel – Wine Director and Head Sommelier at The Samling Hotel. Multiple winner of international sommelier competitions.
Salvatore Castano – Best Sommelier in Europe and Friarwood Wine Buyer.

Registration for the IWSC 2025 Wine & Spirits Judging in Georgia opened on October 7 and is open until November 1. Georgian producers will once again be given the opportunity to showcase their unique products on the international stage.
Winemakers are in for a big treat this year: in addition to wine products, it is now possible to submit chacha, brandy and other high-alcohol beverages to the competition.
